Atlantic side
Noordhoek Long Beach

Why this place
Noordhoek offers a long, open stretch of sand with space for a walk beneath the peninsula’s mountains. The feeling is quite different from the small coves of the Atlantic seaboard. Come for the landscape and the walk, with a route and turnaround point agreed by your group before you leave the busier access area.
Go in company and plan to leave before dusk. Bring water, sun protection and a layer for the wind; distance on open sand can be more tiring than expected. Check local safety and beach advice before setting out. Treat swimming as a separate decision based on conditions, and never assume a quiet stretch of beach is supervised.
