Why this place
World of Birds is a Hout Bay outing built around walk-through aviaries. Being able to pause close to the birds makes it a different experience from watching a distant animal enclosure. It can sit comfortably alongside another Hout Bay stop, provided you leave enough time to enjoy the aviaries without rushing children from one enclosure to the next.
Wear closed walking shoes and bring water and sun protection. Follow the sanctuary’s rules around feeding and touching animals, and keep children close in the walk-through spaces. Confirm current opening arrangements and any enclosure restrictions before travelling. If you need step-free access, ask the venue which route is most suitable.
