Kramats of the Cape · Devil's Peak, above De Waal Drive
Sheikh Abdul Kader and the graves of Devil's Peak
Also remembered as Bismillah Shah Bawa
Graves on the slopes of Devil's Peak whose names are lost, and one whose place was kept secret.

Many graves lie on the slopes of Devil's Peak above De Waal Drive. Two are covered with the satin cloths used for the graves of the awliya, but the names of those buried there, and the tariqa they belonged to, are not known. One, marked with an iron frame decorated with stars and crescents, can be seen from Walmer Estate.
A story told in the community concerns a man named Junaid Mazier. He noticed a man who walked up towards the slopes every Friday after Jumu'ah and decided to follow him. On the mountainside he saw the man walk to this grave, enter it and disappear.
Tradition holds that other awliya are buried on these slopes whose graves have never been identified. One of them is Sheikh Abdul Kader, remembered as Bismillah Shah Bawa. Only a few of his close companions knew where his grave was, and they were asked to keep it secret.
